How to Use BetaHub to Collect Game Suggestions on Discord Like a Pro
June 23, 2025
In the world of game development, player suggestions are pure gold. The problem? Most of them get buried deep in Discord channels and never see the light of day. But with the BetaHub bot, you can finally take control — with automation, clarity, and ease.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to set up a system that lets you collect player suggestions directly from your Discord server, complete with:
- automatic titles,
- duplicate detection,
- multi-idea splitting,
- and a clean voting system.
Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Invite the BetaHub Bot
First, make sure the BetaHub bot is invited to your server. If you haven’t done that yet, click here or check the install link in the video description.
Once the bot is in, you’re ready to set up your suggestion flow.
Step 2: Create a Suggestion Channel with a Submission Button
The easiest way to get players to submit suggestions is to create a dedicated channel — for example, #suggestions
— and add a button that launches the submission form.
Run the command:
/info
Then click the “Suggest a Feature” button in the bot response. This will post a clickable suggestion button in the channel.
You can also add a short message above it, like:
💡 Got a cool idea? Click the button below to share it with the devs!
🗳️ Browse and vote on other suggestions via the link above.
Consider setting channel permissions so that users can’t send messages — just use the button. That keeps things neat and focused.
How It Works
When a user clicks the button and submits their idea:
- The bot automatically generates a clear, consistent title.
- It checks if a similar idea already exists — and if so, flags it as a duplicate and increases the original’s visibility.
- If someone submits a long message with multiple ideas, the bot splits them into separate suggestions.
Everything is automated to reduce friction and boost clarity.
Step 3: Enable Suggestion Reactions
Not all ideas come through the official button. Sometimes a brilliant suggestion pops up in the middle of a conversation. Instead of copying and pasting it manually, you can enable reaction-based suggestions.
Just run:
/set reactions true
From now on, reacting with a 💡 on any message will turn it into a suggestion.
The bot will notify the channel and drop a link to the new suggestion — making it clear that community feedback is valued and taken seriously.
The bot will react only to reactions added by the user owner, administrators or members with the Manage Channels
permission.
Let Players Vote on Suggestions
To really empower your community, let them vote on the suggestions that matter most to them. The easiest way is to share the link to your suggestion board in the same channel where the button lives.
That way, players can:
- post ideas,
- browse what others have submitted,
- and vote on what they love.
Bonus: Auto-Moderation and More
- The bot auto-moderates unclear or off-topic suggestions. Anything that doesn’t look like real feedback can be flagged for manual review.
- Submissions can include screenshots, logs, and videos for context.
- All suggestions sync directly with your BetaHub project dashboard, where you can tag, filter, and prioritize them.
