What’s New in BetaHub: July 2025 Update

July 22, 2025

Seven weeks, tons of new features, and a boatload of quality-of-life tweaks – here’s everything that’s new in BetaHub since our last update!

From full activity tracking, smarter bug management, to better suggestion workflows and easier project onboarding, BetaHub just keeps getting better for both devs and testers.

1. Activity Tracking & Transparency 📊

Keeping track of what’s happening in your project just got way easier. Every project, bug, suggestion, and even label now features a live Activity Waterfall – a full, chronological history of everything that happened:

  • Who reported, assigned, or closed an issue
  • When comments were added
  • Who changed status or priority
  • …and much more

Why does this matter? No more “who changed what?” drama. Everyone stays in the loop, team accountability goes up, and project progress is always crystal clear.

2. Advanced Bug Management 🐛

We know bug tracking is the heart of BetaHub – so this update packs a punch for devs, testers, and project managers alike:

Custom Fields for Bug Reports

You can now add custom fields to bug submissions, making BetaHub fit your game’s workflow (no more workarounds!).

Example use cases:

  • Mobile: track device/OS
  • Multiplayer: add server region
  • RPG: log character level, inventory, etc.

Bulk Update Functionality

QA teams rejoice! Select multiple bugs and update their status, tags, or assignee all at once. Huge time-saver during testing sprints and pre-release crunch.

Perspective Toggle

Switch bug views based on your role – dev, QA, manager. See what matters most to you, with zero clutter.

Configurable Bug Table Columns

Pick which columns show up in your bug list. Focus on what matters, hide what doesn’t. Everyone gets their own view, tailored to their workflow.

3. Suggestion Management – Now with Tags! 💡

Community suggestions (formerly “feature requests”) just got a level-up. You can now tag suggestions for better organization and filtering – super useful for games with an active player base.

Why does this matter? Quickly filter out balancing ideas, UX tweaks, or bugfix requests – no more sifting through endless lists.

Other new tools for suggestions:

  • Manual Merge/Unmerge: Fix those auto-merged ideas that shouldn’t be together.
  • Smarter Suggestion Splitting: BetaHub now auto-detects and splits multi-topic suggestions, saving even more manual sorting.

Project setup and visibility just got a boost!

  • Social media links – Add your Discord, Twitter/X, YouTube and more to your BetaHub project page. Makes it easier for testers and fans to find your community and follow your updates.

  • Project creation flow – While not everyone loves change, we did revamp the project setup experience. It’s a smoother onboarding for new teams and indie devs.

5. New Sign In & Sign Up Experience

Sign up and log in with less hassle! The new authentication flow is modern, fast, and makes joining projects super easy – especially for newcomers and growing teams.

6. Quick Wins, Small Tweaks & API Tokens

Sometimes it’s the little things that make life easier! Here’s a quick rundown of smaller upgrades:

  • Personal Access Tokens: Generate API tokens for automation and integration with your own tools
  • Watch button visible even if not signed in
  • “Latest” option in Release filter
  • Better CSV exports, now with filters
  • Improved access control for activity feeds
  • Better project edit form
  • UI/UX polish and minor bugfixes throughout
